The Queensland Games Festival needs a new logo / visual identity for 2026!

Are you a graphic designer or illustrator who’d like to contribute your creative skills to support Queensland’s local games community?

The Queensland Games Festival is inviting artists to volunteer their creative services by submitting a concept pitch to help shape the 2026 logo and visual identity for this long-running, community-driven event.

Hosted at the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse, the Queensland Games Festival is a celebration of Queensland’s vibrant game-making scene. Since 2012, the festival has brought together developers, artists, studios, and players, welcoming more than 3,000 attendees each year to discover locally made games and connect with the people behind them.

We’re seeking concept pitches from designers and illustrators who want to give back to the community by helping define the festival’s visual identity. Submitted concepts are a volunteer contribution in support of this not-for-profit, community-run event.

From these submissions, one artist will be selected to work with the festival team to produce the final, fully resolved artwork. The selected artist will receive a $1,000 artist fee on delivery of the finished materials, along with full credit and acknowledgement across festival materials and the Queensland Games Festival website.

How to enter

Be inspired by both our local game developer community and our local animals. We love to combine things related to games with our local animals! You could re-imagine our lorikeet and mahogany glider mascots (Lori and Goa) or introduce a new mascot of your own.

Submitted designs need not be complete finished art but should be indicative of the final design and include a colour palette, font choices and also show how the design could work in thumbnails for different social media image sizes, badges and posters.

The winner will be invited to prepare print-ready PDF files (vector or high resolution) for the different platforms and will receive $1,000 (artist fee) plus name and acknowledgement in festival materials and websites.
